APKT Insert

APKT is a single-sided carbide milling insert with an 80° parallelogram shape and an 11° clearance angle. This design is typically applied on milling cutters or end mills with a 90° lead angle, primarily used for square shoulder milling. Its widespread use benefits from the modular indexable design: it is mounted on the tool body via standard Torx screws. When one cutting edge becomes worn, the insert can be simply rotated or replaced without changing the entire tool, effectively reducing tooling costs.
